Beginning in 1989 the US Youth Ensembles have made it possible for the brightest and best high school musicians from across the entire country to come together each summer to tour six countries of western Europe as members of the elite United States Youth Chorale, String Ensemble, and Wind Ensemble. This student tour is for any high school music student who is committed to excellence in performance and who has a deep desire to represent their high standards of musicianship to other cultures on behalf of their home state, as well as their country. The US Youth Ensembles tour works to accept individuals with varied personal stories and social backgrounds from the many diverse areas of our own great country and is a unique opportunity for high school-aged students to legitimately combine learning more about people from across the U.S. with world travel and a professional level of music performance. Accepted students will only meet each other for the first time as the tour begins, yet will find that they share the same values, goals and dreams of the many hard working, passionate young musicians accepted to our program each year.
