About our Ensembles

The US Youth Chorale: Our 50-80 member chorale performs a variety of music that best fits the different performance venues of our tour. Because of regular appearances at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris and at St. Mark’s in Venice, there is always a sacred a cappella component to the repertoire. It has always been a tradition for our chorale to feature American composers when possible, and each of our guest conductors makes an effort to include their favorite examples of fine secular music to complement the overall concert programs. Below are some examples of repertoire from past US Youth Chorale programs:

The US Youth Wind Ensemble: The wind ensemble numbers between 45 and 60 each year, and plays selections written specifically for a small wind group where each player has an opportunity to be the soloist of their section. Like the Chorale, the wind ensemble features mostly American composers and has always been very well received by our European audiences. Listed are some examples of repertoire from past US Youth Wind Ensemble programs:

The US Youth String Ensemble: While still featuring American composers like the chorale and wind ensemble, the string ensemble does draw equally from EuropeanComposers, as they have written the majority of standards in the string ensemble repertoire that performers are most eager to play and our audiences love to hear. Our string ensemble has featured as few as 18 performers and as many as 40. Balance of parts is a must, but total numbers are driven by the quality of our applicants! Listed below are some of the pieces performed on previous tours:
